AW 2026_TDI Line Scan Multi Strobing Application

The TDI (Time Delay and Integration) Camera operates on a principle of capturing multiple images and stacking them to produce a clearer, sharper final image.

During the imaging process, the number of captures corresponds to the number of stages. As each line image on the sensor shifts by one pixel, the previous line’s image is accumulated again, effectively increasing the overall exposure time and resulting in bright, high-quality images.

The TDI Line Scan Multi Strobing Application implements dual lighting effects within a TDI camera system.

By combining the ALT-TDS-100, ALT-LSTP600E, and a Dual TDI Line Scan Camera, this application achieves two distinct lighting effects — Bright Field and Dark Field — simultaneously at a line rate of 150 kHz (150,000 lines per second).

This allows a single camera to generate two different image results under ultra-high-speed inspection conditions, providing significant cost efficiency and enhanced productivity.

The TDI Line Scan Multi Strobing Application dedicated UI program allows users to view the results of three displayed images, which are described as follows:

First Image: The raw image, which represents the combined result of the second and third images.
Second Image: The Bright Field image result, extracted from the even lines of the raw image.
Third Image: The Dark Field image result, extracted from the odd lines of the raw image.

By utilizing the effects of two different illuminations — Bright Field and Dark Field — this system enables the acquisition of two distinct image results from a single capture.
